Penguatan Motivasi Studi Lanjut melalui Kegiatan Parents Talk di SMK Telkom Malang, Jawa Timur

Abstrak

Pendidikan lanjutan setelah lulus dari Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (SMK) berperan penting dalam meningkatkan kualitas sumber daya manusia, daya saing lulusan, dan peluang karier di masa depan bagi siswa siswi alumni sebuah sekolah. Untuk mendukung program ini, SMK Telkom Malang menyelenggarakan kegiatan Parents Talk pada 4 November 2024 dengan menghadirkan narasumber eksternal guna memotivasi siswa terkait studi lanjut. Kegiatan dikemas dalam bentuk presentasi interaktif (story telling) dan diskusi kelas. Hasil survei cepat menunjukkan bahwa 89% siswa menyatakan minat melanjutkan pendidikan tinggi, dengan 34,2% menyatakan sangat yakin untuk kuliah setelah mengikuti kegiatan. Angka ini mencerminkan peningkatan motivasi dan perubahan pandangan siswa terhadap pentingnya studi lanjut. Selain itu, kegiatan ini memberi kontribusi nyata bagi siswa berupa pemahaman jalur pendidikan tinggi, peluang beasiswa, serta prospek karier, sedangkan bagi guru kegiatan ini memperkuat peran sekolah dalam memberikan arahan akademik dan motivasi bagi siswa. Temuan ini menegaskan pentingnya keberlanjutan program serupa sebagai strategi peningkatan kualitas lulusan SMK.
